Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is the latest installment of widely-known franchise developed and published by Ubisoft. Just like the previous games, Black Flag represents the action-adventure genre, where we observe the events from a third person perspective. Once again the gamer is being thrown into an ever-lasting fight between Assassins and the order of Templars. The game’s events are set in the Carribean during XVIII century. The main character is a pirate named Edward Kenway.
The game once again features an interesting plot, combining fictional events and characters with historical ones. The pirate-assassin will meet, e.g. Edward Teach (The Blackbeard), Bejamin Hornigold or Calico Jack Rackham. The world in Black Flag is divided into 50 locations. We will visit here Kingston, Havana and Nassau. Additionally, we’ll be able to visit numerous fishing villages, sugar plantations and ancient ruins.
Because of obvious reasons, an important element of Black Flag is sailing. Edward Kenway has a ship, named Jackdaw, at his disposal. Jackdaw can be easily customized, as the game allows to add cannons, reinforce the hull or add a battering ram. Modifications were also introduced in naval battles, mostly to improve enemies’ AI.

Tessellation, to put it simply, is a method of polygon division, into smaller elements, For example, if we take a rectangle and cut it diagonally, we will perform a “tessellation”, because we have just split the rectangle into two triangles. The easiest and – at the same time – most popular method of using these triangles is a technology called displacement mapping. In DirectX 11 tessellation and displacement mapping technology have formed a great duet, widely used by programmers. In popular games, tessellation is used to obtain smooth, more natural model appearance and high level of details.
Second generation of NVIDIA 3D Vision technology automatically reshapes hundreds of computer games, delivering 3D images immediately, without applying any additional patches.
NVIDIA is a leader in the market of 3D technology for personal computers. Shutter 3D Vision 2 glasses, together with graphic processor NVIDIA GeForce and a monitor featuring LightBoost function, provide breath-taking stereoscope images to gamers and enthusiasts of film and photography. Thanks to 3D Vision technology users can get access to a wide range of 3D materials, hundreds of 3D games, Blu-ray 3D films, 3D photos and videos streamed on the Internet. Additionally, NVIDIA 3DTV Play software gives users the ability to connect stationary or portable computer to a 3D television set, and then running the newest 3D materials in high definition, with 3D effects and surround high quality sound.
